CHILHOOD SWEETHEARTS, AGED 6 AND 7, WANT TO GET MARRIED TO AFRICA

The two sweethearts eloped at dawn, destination Africa.
They dreamed of marrying in the blazing sunshine, surrounded by lions, zebras and perhaps the odd giraffe. The pair even took an accomplice with them to act as a witness in case no locals were available. Sadly, however, their romantic mission was doomed to failure – since the would-be bride and groom were aged seven and six, while their witness was only five. Yesterday, the runaways were back with their parents after a rail guard intercepted them at a station. After seeing a nature documentary, Anna-Lena (middle) and Mika (right) planned to elope to Africa. They decided to take Anna’s younger sister Anna-Bell, five, (left) along to act as witness. Police in Hanover, northern Germany, identified the pair only as Mika and Anna-Lena, who have different parents but now share a home in the city’s suburbs after his father and her mother moved in together.

The story began on New Year’s Eve when the family were watching a documentary about Africa and its wildlife. ‘From this, the children began to make plans for the future,’ said police spokesman Holger Jureczko.
The two youngsters were ‘very much in love and decided to get married in Africa where it is warm, taking with them as a witness Anna-Lena’s little sister Anna-Bell’.
As the first dawn of 2009 broke, the trio packed three suitcases with all the essentials for the journey, including sunglasses, swimming trunks, a lilo, summer clothes and sandwiches made from chicken paste and processed cheese.
While their parents slept, they crept out of the house wrapped up against the freezing weather and walked two-thirds of a mile up the road to a tram stop from where they caught the service to the central station.
Waiting for a train to the airport 30 miles away, they attracted the attention of the guard, who contacted police.
Two officers managed to convince the young lovers that they would struggle to get to Africa without money or a plane ticket. ‘They were very put out that they couldn’t carry on their journey,’ added Mr Jureczko. ‘But they calmed down when they were promised a hot drink and some breakfast.’ As a further consolation, the children were given a tour of police headquarters where they were ‘especially taken with the detention cells’. Their relieved parents picked them up from the station, said Mr Jureczko, adding: ‘They can still put their plan into action at a later date.’. Thank’s to dailymail.

BRITAIN’S STRONGEST GIRL, check this out!

Think of a weightlifter and the image that comes to mind is of a musclebound hulk with thighs like treetrunks.
Think again and check this out!
Petite 14-year-old Zoe Smith has staked her claim to be the strongest girl in Britain after lifting almost two-thirds more than her bodyweight.
The 5ft 2in schoolgirl, who weighs 9 stone, managed to hoist aloft an astonishing 95kg, or 15 stone, in one ‘clean and jerk’ event.
Zoe, from Abbey Wood, South- East London, was named one of the British Olympic Association’s Athletes of the Year for 2008 after she took gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India.
She set a world record for her age and bodyweight by lifting a total of 159kg, or 25 stone, in three events. Her astonishing power has seen her tipped as a star for the London Olympics in 2012. Winning the BOA’s Athlete of the Year award for her sport puts her in an elite group alongside Olympic champions such as Chris Hoy, the triple gold medal-winning cyclist.
‘Seeing my name on a list as an equal alongside all the big names from last year’s Olympics was unbelievable,’ she said.  ’At first I thought there might have been some mistake and was a bit nervous about telling anyone, so I was amazingly happy when it sunk in that it was true.’
Like many teenagers, Zoe has her own Bebo web page where she lists her likes (chocolates, staying up all night, international competitions) and dislikes (prawns, scary movies, losing).
She attends Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath and is studying for GCSEs in maths, English, French, science, art and PE. A former gymnast, Zoe started weightlifting at the age of 12 when she was asked to make up the numbers in a team. She said: ‘From my first session, my coach Andy Callard said he could tell I had the natural talent and strength to do well.’ He was right. Zoe set an amazing 98 British records in 2008.  Of her 2012 ambitions she said: ‘Just being selected would be a dream come true and of course the ultimate aim for anyone would be to win the gold medal, me included.’. Thank’s for dailymail :)
